Marianne Cobb is a well-known frontierswoman and professional scout in the Kabranso Territory. She was born in rural Muscadawick in 1527. When she was thirteen, her family moved to Eldorado, in the midst of the Kabranso prairies. On the trip, she picked up the riding and shooting skills for which she would become famous.
In 1545, at the age of 18, she joined Lieutenant-Colonel Frank Wooton as a scout. She kept on with Wooton throughout several campaigns, and into to the Crow Range in 1549. In 1551 she caught cold after swimming a river while delivering a message across ninety miles of Native-controlled territory. She was sent back to the fort and thus was no where near Wooton when his army was famously slaughtered at the Battle of Russet's Draw.
Later, Cobb met and befriended Nolan Good, joining him on his trip to Naco. There, Cobb worked as a courier, carrying mail between Naco and Rock City, across one of the most dangerous tracts in the area, but due to her reputation she was rarely bothered. Cobb eventuall captured Good's murderer, Faye Prisby, in a butcher shop in Naco.
Cobb has her gentler side as well. She is known to collect groceries for needy families, and has also helped nurse many of Naco's Deadbitten Plague victims through their illness.
