Locations in Darraco

The riverport city of Darraco has been called the most peaceful place in Aveir, where the simplicity of rural bliss ease the rigors of daily life. Darraco's unpaved streets evoke a lost age, when matters of love and sin were young, and man's innocence had yet to end.

Darraco is nestled on the banks of upper the Oso River, in an extremely fertile region of wheatfields, vegetable farms, and cattle ranches. Today, Darraco is one of Aveir's chief mercantile hubs, hosting buyers and sellers from all across the continent. It is home of the famed Ramos family, whose commercial and money-lending interests have shaped modern Aveir's economy. The family owns the Darraco docks and everything else within easy sighting distance (save the University of Darraco), and commands a slice of every penny made in every shop in town.

The Ramos family has many other interests in Darraco as well. Their shipwrights specialize in small, shallow-water craft, deriving a healthy dividend from the regular traffic passing along the Oso. They also own many of the deeds to businesses, private homes, and other buildings in town, ensuring that they receive a constant influx of money as the city grows. Finally, they also own and operate the local bullfighting arena, the Enojito, named after its most famous bull.

For natives of western Aveir, Darraco is home to everyone - even those who reside elsewhere. Every major family maintains a private ranch here. The royal family takes several months here each year, hunting in the nearby forests and visiting with their "extended family", the people of Darraco.
